Wednesday Grind

Haven't posted anythin' from these dudes recently...

Live from their second trip to Ozzfest in 2000. Anselmo sounds like shit (he was peakin' on his heroin use about the time of the show), but it's still a pretty solid live outin'. Track is from '90's album of the same name.

Pre-Irene Shooting

My big brother whipped up a few loads for me to try outta my rifle, and we finally got a chance to check 'em out... right before the hurricane hit.

It was interestin' but we both put out 10-15 shots each before the wind and rain finally drove us back into the folk's house. Nothin' like blowin' shit up to usher in a natural disaster.

Good times.

We wound up bein' outta power for about 15 hours, which pissed me off to no end. The other local supplier (which we can't get where we live) had all their power back up in about an hour. Those of us that are stuck with Met-Ed were just shit outta luck. My buddy Schlongie and his family waited over 20 hours to get power back.

The shittiest part was we barely got any memorable weather here. We just got hit by the outside edge. Folks that took a direct hit had power back quickly, if they lost it at all.

Oh well... at least there was enough water and pressure in the bulk tanks that I was able to take a shower after workin' all night Saturday. And everythin's back up to normal and the weather's great now, so no harm no foul.

Earthquake? Really?

An earthquake... A FUCKING EARTHQUAKE... started in Virgina and felt from Chi-town to Toronto to Charleston.

WTF? This ain't the west coast! We don't get this shit in Pennsyltucky!

I thought it was kinda cool, actually, but there's a buncha people whiggin' the fuck out. Westerners are no doubt laughin' at us right now.

New Ink

It's been about a year and a half since I had any ink done, and I been hankerin' for it pretty bad. A good friend of mine from high school, Rocky, recently opened up his own shop, so I figgered I'd kill two birds with one stone... scratch my itch and give my buddy some business.

I didn't want to go too big since I didn't really have a shit-ton of money to spend on it, so I settled on a classic '50's Triumph Thunderbird logo. I figgered it was a good way to forever honor the best bike a boy could ever own:)

Rocky wants to do a little touchin' up in a few weeks, once the skin heals a bit. His bike is off the road again, so sometime in the next few weeks, I'll lend him one of mine and we'll ride for a few hours, then we can take care of the touch up. Lookin' forward to it, haven't rode with him since last year.

X-Rated David Allan Coe

Recently stumbled across DAC's 18 X-Rated Hits album. I used to have most of it back in the day, but lost it durin' one of my hard drive crashes.

I gotta say, I forgot how filthy, vulgar, politically incorrect and phenomenal it all was. If you don't take yourself too seriously and are up for an hour of entertainment, you can find 'em here for free download. You might go to hell for listenin', but that's only one of many transgressions the good Lord will remind me of when I stand before Him.

Trail Cam video

Pulled my trail camera last week. With the cam set for video mode, she only lasted about four days. Got some pretty decent video from those four days though...

Aside from the battery issue, night video pretty much sucks on that camera too. Not good since that's when the big boys show up. Got her set back to regular picture mode though, so we'll see what happens next time I pull it.

Although relatively new, this band is the spawn of Sepultura, so ya know they got the chops. From '11's Blunt Force Trauma.

Our TN trip in pictures

We took a shit-ton of pictures last week on our trip South... Here's a few of 'em. Some are mine, some my lady took.

Cool lil' chop-shop gas station in BFE on the way there.

Our humble abode for the trip.

One of the overlooks on the way to Newfound Gap.

East view from Newfound Gap.

A smokin' hot Indian in one of the parkin' areas.

The observation deck at Clingman's Done

One of the many tunnels along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

My lady takin' pictures at Yellow Face Overlook, BRP.

The mornin' sun in Cade's Cove.

Panoramic view.

Hen with her poults.

A baldie in the fog.

A few nice, close bucks.

Some big ol' bones off in the distance.

A happy little tree.

One of the many kick-ass old buildings in Cade's Cove.

Two insolent bastards.

Old Methodist Church and cemetery.

Neat sign.

We found them big-boned critters later, a little closer.

Momma Bear.

... and the baby's tired.

Tree of Shame at Deal's Gap, parts from folks that fucked up doin' The Dragon.
No additions from my bike, thank goodness.

Some ballsy kids launchin' off a rock.

My lady takin' more pictures.

My Momma's maiden name... had to get a picture with it along the BRP.
Pounding Mill Overlook, BRP, on our way home.

1,721 miles in four days... a nice lil' trip on the ol' V-Star. I could post hundreds of pictures of the mountains. Not quite as grand as they are in the west, but best we'll find east of the Mississippi. Ate some good grub, saw lots of critters and finally got to experience it all on two wheels, somethin' I've been hankerin' to do since my first down time there 11 years ago.

T'was a nice getaway with my woman and my bike, for sure.
