Pre-Irene Shooting

My big brother whipped up a few loads for me to try outta my rifle, and we finally got a chance to check 'em out... right before the hurricane hit.

It was interestin' but we both put out 10-15 shots each before the wind and rain finally drove us back into the folk's house. Nothin' like blowin' shit up to usher in a natural disaster.

Good times.

We wound up bein' outta power for about 15 hours, which pissed me off to no end. The other local supplier (which we can't get where we live) had all their power back up in about an hour. Those of us that are stuck with Met-Ed were just shit outta luck. My buddy Schlongie and his family waited over 20 hours to get power back.

The shittiest part was we barely got any memorable weather here. We just got hit by the outside edge. Folks that took a direct hit had power back quickly, if they lost it at all.

Oh well... at least there was enough water and pressure in the bulk tanks that I was able to take a shower after workin' all night Saturday. And everythin's back up to normal and the weather's great now, so no harm no foul.

  1. Damn, it must be pretty cool being able to go out into your backyard and throw some lead downrange. I either have to go pay someone at a range to shoot paper-only targets (which is fucking boring and lame in my opinion), or drive 1 1/2 hours east to Imperial County in the middle of the desert, where we ultimately get harrassed by The BLM or BATFE (a.k.a. Nazi Power-trippin' Assholes With Badges and Attitudes)because they get off on it and nothing else. I have dreamed of having my own backyard range for decades...
